Spekuloos Spread:
It's been called "awesome", "incredibily orgasmic"
and "how I fixed my crappy day". Spekuloos is a spread* that looks like peanut butter, but it tastes like traditional Belgian gingerbread-cinnamon cookies. It beats
Nutella 10 to 1. It leaves Spekuloos-virgins in awe. Get it here (14 oz jar). $7.95
/ ea * It's best to spread it with a simple kitchen knife ("to spekulate"). Some people we know also eat it
by the spoon ("to overspekulate"). Our spread is
vegan. It contains gluten & soy, and it is made in a shop where we also use eggs, milk, nuts and lupine. We promise it
doesn't contain Brussels Sprouts.
Liège Wafel (3.53 oz):
The Liège Waffle is the “other” Belgian waffle
- the one the Belgians kept secret and never told anyone about! What makes them so different is the dough. It’s made
with a wheat-based yeast sweetened dough with pearl sugar, a sugar unique to Belgium that melts within. The pearls burst and
caramelize when the dough hits the waffle iron, resulting in a dense, sugary waffle that’s rich in flavor. Best eaten cold or warmed up in your oven or toaster oven* for a few minutes.
Buy them here.
$2.50 / ea *The
warming up of the waffle by use of a microwave oven is punishable by Belgian Law, Article 15, Section VII
De
Kompleet Wafel Kit - Brussels Style (1 lb) De Kompleet Wafel Kit - The Brussels Style" was developed by
Thomas to have a quick and easy way for the making of wafel batter in his Truck. After very many requests from his customers,
he put the formula in this red box*. So Brussels-wafel-lovers can make the real ones (light-crispy!) at the home. The mix
is made "Kompleet", and therefor "Idioot-Proof". So there is no need for eggs, milk or butter. Every important
ingredient is in the box, just add water, air and...voila! Buy it here.
$6.95 / ea *We
have found that our mix works best with irons that you can "flip". It will work with regular irons as well, but
the fullest wafels you get if you flip (not you, the iron...). Spray a little PAM or even better, brush the iron with butter,
for the better wafeling.
T-Shirt
pour Wafelette Well, we really are in the waffle-business and not in the t-shirt
business. So we normally only give these to our staff. But we ordered quite a few too many last time, so here they are for
sale. They're nice, high quality cotton t-shirts with a nice, sexy cut for the wafelettes. They give you superpowers when
you hold a wafel in your hand. Really. Buy one here.
$29.95 / ea
T-Shirt
pour Wafeleur Normally you would have to work at least a month in the Wafels &
Dinges truck to get one of these. But we are deviating from our very strict policy. Why? Because we are nice wafel-people,
that's why! They're nice, high quality cotton t-shirts that make your six-pack abs look like a waffle-grid. Also, your friends
will start calling you "dinges". Really. Buy one here.
$29.95 / ea
Waffle Fork:
One of the great secrets of
making good tasting, good looking waffles, is in how you remove the waffle from the iron. At Wafels & Dinges we use a
very unique* waffle fork that slides perfectly between the grates, helping to lift up the waffle. You'll end up using less
of that un-natural, un-healthy oil spray, and the result will be a waffle that taste like a waffle, not like spray-oil! Get it here.
$19.95
/ ea *Exclusively
imported from Belgium by Wafels & Dinges
Belgian Pearl Sugar (1lb):
Extra large grain (P4) pearl sugar from the Tienen factory* in Belgium.
What makes this sugar so special? Well, it's made out of refined sugar beet sugar that's compacted under very high pressure.
This makes for a very hard grain, that won't melt during the baking process. The nice, white pearls will give your waffles
or cookies an extra crunch, and a nice decorative touch.
Buy it here.
$8.50 / ea *Thomas, the owner of the Wafels & Dinges truck, even worked for a
while in this factory back in 1995. It was situated in the middle of the fields, only a 10 minute drive from his village,
Bierbeek.
